Cool Down with Local Pools & Swimming Areas

The  heat has arrived! Stay cool by spending the summer splashing in the local pools, beaches, and water parks. You don’t need to belong to a country club or a pool in order to swim; there are plenty of great places around Toledo to enjoy.  Have the best summer yet with these local pools and swim parks!

The Centennial Quarry - Sylvania, Ohio

Hours: May 26th, 2018 - Labor Day  |    12pm — 7 pm Admission: $6   | Both seasonal and 10-day admission punch card passes available

Located next to the Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, the Centennial Quarry’s deep-water, spring-fed swimming area is lined with rock cliffs and has an average depth of about 22 ft., making you feel as though you are out of Ohio. Best for teens and young adults, plan to spend the day exploring all the amenities the Quarry has, such as, diving platforms, water toys like an aqua-bobber, a water teeter-totter, a log roller, several swim rafts, and a beautiful sandy beach. Take a break from the water with their three sand volleyball courts and basketball court.  Closing & Weather Updates  

Toledo Zoo Aquarium Adventure Trail - Toledo, Ohio

Hours:  Daily  10am - one hour prior to Zoo closing  |  Memorial Day to Labor Day (with the temperature above 70 degrees). Admission: Included in Zoo admission

Located between Penguin Beach and Primate Forest, The Cool Zone (or the Wet Side of the Adventure Trail) is ADA accessible and is a great way for kids of all ages to cool off after walking around the Zoo. With a large, diving whale, kids can get splashed  in numerous spots throughout the facility. Water shoes are recommended and adult supervision is required.  

 

Bowling Green City Pool & Waterpark - Bowling Green, Ohio

Hours:  May 26 – August 14  |    Weekday  1pm - 8:45pm  |  Weekend  12pm - 8:45pm (opens 1 hour earlier for pass holders) August 15 – September 3  |  *Weekends Only*  |  12pm - 7pm (opens 1 hour earlier for pass holders) Admission:  Passes, Family Prices, Daily Passes

Found in the heart of Bowling Green, this city pool combines standard pool  and waterpark fun.  There are sections for the little ones to safely enjoy the water, as well as  more advanced waterslides and deeper areas. This pool is perfect for all ages! Their large pool and waterpark are great spots to cool off from the heat. Take a break from the water with the park’s other amenities, such as playground, skatepark, courts, and trails.  

 

Perrysburg Municipal Pool - Perrysburg, Ohio

Hours:  Daily  1PM – 830PM  |    Toddler time Monday - Friday, 10AM – Noon (For children 5 and under only with an adult and is restricted to City of Perrysburg residents only. ID required.) Admission:  Open to the public for admission (5 and under free, 6 and up $4-$12 depending if Resident) | Perrysburg Residents can purchase a pass

Rolf Park Pool - Maumee, Ohio

Hours: Weekdays from Noon to 6:45 pm  |  Weekends from Noon to 5:45 pm Admission: $5 - $8 depending on height  |    Memberships available for residents

Rolf Park has a large pool with an attached waterpark. Two waterslides, a climbing area, fountains, and so much more!  Resident memberships are available or pay as you go.

Luna Pier - Luna Pier, Michigan

Hours: All parks close at Dusk throughout the year. Admission: Free (some parking fees may apply)

Plan a beach day at Evans Pier and Public Beach at the end of Luna Pier Rd. Bring the shovel and buckets to make a sand castle, then cool off in the Lake Erie waves. The pier creates a perfect spot for fishing. In addition, Luna Pier offers bike trails, public boat ramp, ball fields, beautiful views, all with the small-town atmosphere.  

 

Camp Perry Beach - Port Clinton, Ohio

Admission: Free (some parking fees may apply)

Located on the southern shores of Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Camp Perry Beach brings history and recreation together. Enjoy the sandy beach, cool Lake Erie waters, fishing pier, and historical locations and monuments.  

 

Maumee Bay State Park - Oregon, Ohio

A major attraction for the area, Maumee Bay State Park offers something for everyone. Whether you stay at the lodge, one of the cabins, or just visit for the day, Maumee Bay State Park has over 1,335 acres of a “unique natural environment created by the convergence of the land and Lake Erie.” The park offers numerous small lakes, a larger inland lake, canoeing lake, and the beach at the shoreline of Lake Erie. In addition to the water recreation, you can also enjoy the amphitheater, golf course, fishing, nature center, and many other activities and events throughout the summer.
